So, what does a roast beef have to do with tendonitis?

I went to my doctor today after severe wrist pain has plagued me for 3 months. I hurt it in the summer and waited until now to make an appointment (even with Hillary my second "Mommy" telling me that I should "really get that checked out" every day)

This is the Roast beef part of the story.

Our neighbours had given us roast beef as a thank you for Garnet fixing their Computer. As Garnet was walking home with the frozen roast he yelled out "Catch!" I tried, but failed miserably as it caught the side of my hand and threw my wrist into a weird contortionist act.

Ever since we started dating Garnet has always thought it was "cute" how I can catch things on a whim. I have always loved baseball, I played for years and was even lucky enough to practice with the boys teams that my Dad coached. (Even though that was more flirting than baseball ;)
So because of my baseball talents Garnet is always whipping things at me and getting a kick out of yelling "catch!" while it's in mid-air.

There have been a few other misfortunes with this little game. Tim still talks about when Daddy threw the water bottle at Mommy's nose. Seeing the reaction of shock - I have to clear up the story about how it bounced off the door frame and caught me in the face.....and that is why we don't throw things in the house, Honey. Right.

And the Tendonitis part.

After the doctor prodded and poked, bent and disfigured my wrist even more.....he decided it was tendonitis. The roast beef had messed up my tendons and the pain wouldn't have been so bad if I had rested it and gotten it checked right after. Well, gee, ya think? He got me an X-Ray just in case - but said I have to wear a wrist brace or tensor bandage at work so I don't mess it up any more.

And Garnet? He feels horrible about it -- but couldn't help playing the "I told you so" card with Hillary that I should have gone months ago like they told me.

He's going to have to enjoy all the other "cute" things I do -- cause that one is out of service for a while.

My Little Author ;)

Tim has been writing books like crazy lately - he brings them into school and reads them in front of the class. He's written about 10 in the last week; here are a few excerpts from my favorites. I guess he has my love-of-writing genes ;)

He wrote this one at school -- I bet his teacher was impressed with his family life. Maybe it's time for Garnet to start cooking supper ;)
(I just realized it isn't clear when you enlarge it; it says "My Dad sits on the couch all day and he never cooks supper.")

We love the logic of these; "Stop signs and stop lights" and "School" Posted by Picasa

This started out as a comment in response to Ang's comment in my previous post.......

.......but because I've had a few other challenging questions - I decided it wouldn't hurt to clear up my point a little more.
__________________________________

No offence taken Ang, I wouldn't write about these subjects unless I was prepared to be challenged and hear different views. What you said was my biggest point -- it IS our decision, it's our body, that’s why I don't understand why we are being FORCED to take it.

Yes, I have had Tim immunized with all of the mandatory shots. I have not had him immunized against Chicken pox or any of the other optional choices. I chose to vaccinate him for no other reason than the fact that I was not educated enough to stand up against it - and because I am scared of these deadly diseases.

My point is not that these vaccinations AREN'T doing what they are supposed to (ie. protecting against deadly disease) my point is that we aren't sure, and enough research isn't being done about what they ARE doing that they didn't expect (ie. like this new link to nervous system diseases, Autism, Alzheimers, Paralyzation etc.)

We as a society are too quick to jump on the bandwagons and trust that medicine has come so far -- and trust that what they are pushing at us is truly beneficial.

The amount of Mercury in Thermisol (Thermisol is a preservative) in vaccines exceeded federal health guidelines -- even after this was known they continue to use it. There is something wrong when they are willing to jeopardize life for the sake of stopping a cough. Where are the priorities? I am not completely 100% against vaccines or even the flu shot -- I believe that they do serve a purpose. I just think that in 20 years, or 50 years we are going to be finding out that the benefits DID NOT outweigh the negative effects when they used us as lab rats to find the perfect mixture.

Why are they not doing major campaigns about washing hands, eating more fresh fruit and veggies, and talking about ways to protect our immune systems -- instead of weaken it more? We are soon going to have completely defenseless bodies that can't fight anything off by ourselves -- and we'll be finding out that the stuff they are injecting us with was far more detrimental than the common flu. Even the Chicken Pox vaccine has not been around long enough to see the long terms effects – they aren’t even sure how long you are protected for. This means that even vaccinated children may get the Chicken Pox in adulthood – which can be very dangerous and even deadly. They are finding cases where even vaccinated children get a very severe case of Chicken Pox.

You even mentioned yourself about how people abuse their drugs -- 20 years ago Doctors thought that antibiotics were the wonder drug. Prescribing them left and right and watching the common illnesses vanish in days.....and people trusted that this was the right thing to do. Then all of a sudden the super bugs started attacking and the Doctors say "Oh shit, guess we should have thought this one through before we over prescribed them."

An outbreak of the common flu can be deadly in nursing homes and for people with chronic conditions. I agree that they should be vaccinated. I do not believe that it should be pushed onto the healthy public as though it’s a necessity. I believe this is a fallacy fabricated by people with hidden agendas, feeding on society's fear of death.

And so it begins.......

I have been very vocal on my blog against the flu vaccine - and now I don't sound so much like a paranoid conspiracy theory nut; my theories are starting to come true.

READ HERE

I don't care how tiny or miniscule or slight or rare (or any other word they are using to downplay it) the chances are. The fact is they are making it seem like a life or death decision to get the flu shot - when the flu is only dangerous to the elderly. And now the choice they are giving us could be more deadly. The reports say that it is only slightly higher than the risk of getting hit by lightening. And yet - if I know my chances are 1 in a million of getting hit by lightening -- do I run around in an open field with a metal rod in a thunderstorm?? I'd like to know what my chances (my chances - not an 80 year old in a nursing home) are of dying from the flu!

If you were told that by eating something you had 2 in a million chance of dying - would you choose to eat it? Look at the whole "spinach crisis" this past fall -- how many people died? I believe it was 2 or 3 in total. How many people ate spinach?? Probably more than a million. And look at the catastrophic repercussions. Spinach was ripped off the shelf - people were terrified, Spinach is now the hexxed food and no one wants to go near it.

And yet, vaccines are so much worse. Children have died, been paralyzed, deathly ill --- they have been linked to cases of Autism, Alzhiemers and Asthma. And yet they are downplaying the first link to danger that has been proven. Why? Doesn't it seem odd to you? It sounds like one of those movies where the people are trying to cover something up - because the cover up benefits someone with power.

The worst (and scariest part) is that because I am going into a health profession I will be forced to take the flu shot - or risk losing my job. Here in a "free" country - I will be told that I have to put something in my body --- that might kill me. It doesn't make any sense to me. Why aren't they putting more effort into finding cures for things that are deadly or cause more harm than the flu; Cancer, AIDS, Asthma, Autism, Diabetes.........

It's the flu people!! Have some chicken soup and a cup of tea -- take a day or 2 off work--- and suck it up like every other human being has done for years!! The reason the flu knocks us out so bad now is because we are an overworked, stressed out society living on Micky D's and microwave meals. Our immune systems are shocked to the max already -- when the bug hits, we have no defenses. If we would take care of ourselves - eat right, sleep right and relax.....maybe we wouldn't be looking for quick fixes to get better.

Isn't sickness just our body's way of telling us to slow down anyways??

Warning; Graphic content due to the nature of marriage!

Because this is a family friendly blog (ie. mom and dad are loyal readers) it's not going to get too graphic -- but the title still got you reading, didn't it? Now, I'll try to be good.....

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that Garnet and I don't shy away from conflict. We are both passionate human beings and if we are feeling it - it's out there. Whether it be little low blows in the comment section or in person, we can both dish it out pretty good. With a strong sense of humour and the ability to laugh at ourselves we've made it pretty fun amidst the conflict living with fire and earth over here.

With Hillary living here - someone with completely different views on conflict - we tried for about a week to be really sweet and nice - but that week is over now. She thinks it's hilarious that while we may be screaming one minute - we can just as easily be making out the next. This is an essential to us. Why? Because you have to be able to separate yourself from conflict in a way that - no matter how pissed off I am that he left his boots in front of the door for me to trip over again - that doesn't change the fact that I love him. In our opinion, if I held it in everytime he left his boots there - give me a couple of months and I'd be boiling mad, bitter and angry....and he'd have no clue why. (Obviously, I'm using the boot analogy in lieu of more serious matters, so you get the point - without me spilling every ounce of personal conflict on the blog, right?) If I get it out there while it's happening, he sees me flat on my ass because of his boots - knows why I'm mad - says he'll try not to leave them there - and we move on to the other important stuff.....like making out. (Just kidding, mom)

We are never unsure where the other one stands on something, we always know why the other one is mad, and we don't have ulcers. See? - it's a win-win situation.

However, sometimes the fights are just plain silly and ridiculous and also a necessity in a weird foreplay kind of way. And I'm apologizing in advance for all the ways that we are permanently scarring my poor little sister.

Last night Garnet was blatently hogging the remote. He was watching a really good movie which I didn't mind - and on commercials was switching it over to UFC. A sport which I think is just a bad case of repressed homosexuality, but that's a whole other blog in itself.
When the movie and UFC were over - he got up, went to the computer....and took the remote with him. So I called him on his jack-assness and said "Hey, you can't hog the computer and the TV! Give me the remote!"

It turned into a wrestling match over the remote - resulting in the computer being shut off, the tv being blocked and excessive amount of evil laughter. Then it got ugly when the tickling started. Garnet knows that tickling is the ultimate way to render me helpless, as I turn into a heaping ball of screams on the floor.

Somewhere between the helpless screams and torturous tickles I yelled out the threat of death for any male on the planet. Very descriptively detailing where I was going to connect if he didn't stop.

He didn't stop. So I connected.

Three octives higher he threatened a purple nurple, because I found his pain so funny. When my evil cackles didn't stop - he followed through.

Holding my painful chest, I stated the obvious that this could have all been avoided if he had just given up the remote.

He threw it at me, I caught it and said "Yeah, that's right, sucka!"

Hillary, through tears of laughter and shock, from the chair in the corner of the room; "And I missed Pita Pit for this...."

The reason I dropped OAC Chemistry the first time......

Determine the molecular formula of ethylene glycol. It is a compound containing 38.70% carbon, 9.74% hydrogen and the remainder is oxygen by mass. Its molar mass is known to be 62 g/mol.

and just for fun;
Molton Iron and Carbon Monoxide are produced in a blast furnace by the reaction of iron(III) Oxide and Coke (pure carbon). If 25.0 Kilograms of pure Fe2O3 is used, how many kilograms of iron can be produced?

Oh yeah, and a side note for Jess; while your determining that, because we all know how handy that knowledge will be in life, you should stop banging your head against the wall asking yourself why the hell you're doing this again...

Just ask Hillary....

....now that she's living here, she gets front row seats to the fire ;)

Your Element Is Fire

Your passion and emotion are as obvious as the brightest flame.
You make sparks fly, and your passion always has the potential to burst out.

You are exciting and creative - and completely unpredictable.
You sometimes exercise control, and sometimes you let yourself go.

Friends describe you as sensitive, spirited, and compulsive.
Bright and blazing with intensity, you seem mysterious and moody to many.

Mr. Incredible!!!!!

The usual Camera Queen let everyone down last night. I think there is something wrong with my rechargeable batteries -- all 4 sets were dead last night, again. I managed to shoot this one and one with Hillary's camera before hers died as well. So dissapointing. He had fun - and I was so proud as he remembered to say "Thank you and Happy Halloween" to every single house. (Even if they were trying to shut the door quickly - he still stuck his head in there to get it in!)

They let Garnet go to Ottawa!
