Christmas Day
We woke up at 5 am....and had to wake Tim up and remind him that Santa came in the night. Garnet had to work all day - so he wanted to get in some play time with Tim and the presents before he had to rush off to work.
A spoiled Tim :)

A light that spins -- like it was invented for Tim!!

A good indication that his Mom drinks too much coffee.....
(Tim's revelation driving home from school today)
"So, at School Mom, my password on the computer is my first name and last name....."
"That's good honey, do you like computers?"
"Yeah, it's my favorite thing to do. But I have a problem; I have to change my password."
"Why?"
"Cause I changed my last name to Horton's."

Chinese Girls Night Out
Hillary was craving Chinese tonight, (even though I know she would have preffered Spaghetti)....so we decided with the boys up in the great white north - that we would go out for Chinese and a little shopping!!
We had some great conversation, I love having having a sister that is also a best friend. She just gets me and we've been through everything together, and I love talking to her. She's the best.
But before I get too sappy I have to be the annoying big sister and tell you the funny, funny story. And yes, I have her permission to make fun of her on the blog.
Hillary is single. And we like to tease her about it. But she knows - that the only reason that we tease her about it is because we know that she is beautiful, smart, kind and sweet and WILL meet a wonderful man who will fly out to pakistan with her and live there happily ever after. And yes, he will have blue eyes, dark hair, be the geeky-cool smart, hot (but shy, not cocky), be exactly 6'1" and all the other five hundred and thirty three things on her list. But until he comes - we tease.
After a very yummy meal (in which I told her that if she continues to eat that many chicken balls in one sitting, that any man in his right mind would be intimidated and run away anyways)I get my fortune cookie and explain to her that is I don't like my fortune - I will be stealing hers.
I open to this:

"Weeeeeeee SHOPPING" we both squeal with emphatic sarcasm.
And she gets this;

"Awwwwww.......what is that supposed to mean?" She figures that even the Chinese horoscope and maker of fortune cookies are out to pick on her, and remind her of her singleness.
"They think I'm a loser" (Don't worry Mom, she's sarcastically trying to pretend to be sad. It's not real) And we both have tears from laughing so hard.
And I hand her a wet nap and say "Oh no honey -- they think YOU A WINNA!!!!"

Love you babe!

Master of Spontaneity.....
.....some just call it crazy.
Garnet felt like going on a roadtrip last night -- and when the Cameron's didn't want him, he decided to head up to North Bay to see my Grandma.
Yep. 6 hours, just because he wanted to spend some father son time with Tim.
So they decided at about 6:30 that they were going. Packed and out the door by 7 and they are hanging out with my Grandma right now - getting spoiled with Ice Cream and McDonalds.

Christmas Tree Farm
The cutest tree on the farm!

Charlie Brown Tree....

Found a nice one:)

Can you find Tim?

Horse Ride

Horse and Wagon Ride

COOKIE!!!!.....with just a little icing ;)

Train Rides!

Warming up by the fire to end the perfect Christmasy Day (if only there was a little snow....)

It looks like we are making an annual tradition of going with Sandra and Wayne and the boys to find their tree. Our tree is fake so we can have it up forever - but one of these years we might cut down our own as well. It's so pretty and peaceful there - and the boys have a blast! This year there was a new Rope Glider (video) Tim loved it!
Last year there was a couple inches of snow -- and that was the only thing that would have made this year better - but I'm not rushing it!!

Report time
It's that time of year again - you know the report card/parent teacher interview time.....
This year has been an adjustment for all of us - we lost the greatest teacher in the entire universe and gained two more (one of which has a reputation for being a 'yeller' and not always friendly....) Grade one means full days of work and not nearly as much play time. Parent helpers and volunteers are not as welcomed or needed and I feel a little out of the loop. And this year the dreaded "awww, do I have to go to school?" has officially started. Needless to say we were a little anxious to get the report.
Now, I have strict orders from the husband that I am not allowed to brag like I did the last time....apparently I was a little too vocal about how much the teacher had to say the last 2 years.
So let me just say this; I HAVE THE GREATEST SON IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!
Was that humble enough honey?
The grades were good. But the teachers comments were heartfelt and genuine -more than I thought they would be. And when they are telling Garnet and I how proud we should be to have such a great son, with great work ethic, and great enthusiasm. I was touched. But the best part was when they told us how kind he was.....because all the A+'s in the world won't create a kind heart. And knowing that his big heart is touching others makes my heart soar.
